We are very excited to announce that our external keynote speaker for Earth(ly) Matters 2021 is Dr Georgia Ennis, Linguistic Anthropologist and Junior Visiting Fellow in the Center for Humanities and Information at Penn State.

Georgia Ennis received her PhD in linguistic anthropology from the University of Michigan in 2019. She is currently at work on a book manuscript and companion digital archive exploring the role of community media in cultural and environmental activism in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Her research has appeared in Signs and Society, Journal of Linguistic Anthropology, and Resonance: The Journal of Sound and Culture.
She is passionate about the use of media to transform social relationships and connect with wider audiences. Examples of her collaborative media work with Amazonian Kichwa cultural activists and more information about her research can be found at http://georgiaennis.com.
